The Smallest Room That Ever Lived
A home update, nice things I've saved and tips on how to decide when you just can't choose when it comes to interiors...
Five Nice Things I’ve Saved for Later
I mentioned this dress when I was on the Sheerluxe podcast the other day. Such a pretty one for wedding season or just a nice dinner. It’s floral and mid-length but cooler than your average (I like the drawstring cutouts and black and yellow combo). Plus it’s very unlikely anyone else will be wearing the same thanks to its small-brand/Italian roots. And yes, if you watched the Sheerluxe reel, I’m still dreaming of those Aquazurra sandals too.
Saw this sculpted lamp by Alexander Griffin on Wondering People and instantly screen-shotted it. I’ve been feeling a bit flat in terms of interiors lately as it feels like I’ve seen everything over and over but this feels fresh and fun without being overly on-trend. Love the hand-painted shades too which would refresh any old table lamp you’ve grown tired of at home.
Instagram buddy and all-round girl crush Mafalda Patricio has designed a range of sunglasses in collaboration with Portuguese eyewear brand Foro which I love. The shape is universally flattering and the range of colours is so good it’s hard to choose. I went for the creamy butter-like shade for something a bit different to my black and tortoiseshell rut but I love the pale blue and red ones too.
If money was no object, I think I’d be snapping up these beautiful needlepoint and iron bar stools by Robert Bevan. Alas, they are £3K a pop but they are so great I’ll obsess none-the-less. In an all-white or timber kitchen these would be the design equivalent of lemon zest; makes all the difference and takes it to the next level.
Sometimes you’ve just got to give in to those ‘I love them’ moments and these flipflops were that for me. I’m imagining them with jeans or a white trousers/long sheer white dress combination. I love a shoe you look down on and they make you smile and with an otherwise simple outfit, I feel like these will be a the ideal little injection of kitsch.
