Thanks so much for all your patience while I took a little unplanned hiatus to re-find my substack mojo after hitting a mental and spiritual roadblock (I blame January). January always makes me feel like I’m bursting with things to say while simultaneously having zero motivation or energy to say it. But enough about that because everyone knows the year properly starts in February.
Getting back into the swing of being inspired and maybe (hopefully!?) a little inspiring by sharing what’s caught my eye and littered my screenshots folders of late.
I screenshotted this from a Massimo Dutti e-mail the other day for pure hair inspo. This is defintiely my natural hair texture and this is making me want to actually embrace it.
Petra Palumbo’s new ticking tile collection is taking my love of skinny stripes to a new level. Sadly I have nowhere that needs tiling but hopefully you do.
Becky reminding me how much I love pink trousers, espeically when they’re tailored and cigarette style like this. Looks so good with brown too.
Some more pink pants from Jen. This is how I know something’s got under my skin… I actually already have a great pair in my wardrobe by Kallymeyer but London still feels too grey and freezing to get them out just yet.
The perfect antithesis to the war crime that is colour-coded book shelves. Chic but ever so slightly chaotic is my USP.
I need to send this to my mum who shares the same trauma I think.
Adding this small Bahamas bolthole to my Caribbean bucket list. Yolo Journal is worth every penny of it’s subscription for travel lovers who want to find those great niche hotels that aren’t all-over instagram or impossibly out of reach price wise.
I love this new Chloe campaign so much. It pretty much sums up modern boho to me. Without even glimsping a blue sky or a barefoot, it screams ripe and juicy high summer and that truly bohemiam attitude in not being precious about beautiful things.
I don’t know why but this made me smile and reminded me of Finn and me constantly craving summer even on the greyest of days.
Love the retro hardware and of course the contrast interior to the cabinets.
Another high street screenshot for stylin inspiration, this time it’s Zara. So simple but I love the top knot and leather choker for really relaxed twist on a simple look.
Such a genius bedside table design from the very clever Sophie Rowell of Cote de Folk interior design. Such a great way of building into the nook if you have your bed against a chimney breast and maximsing space. The drop-down shelf makes all the difference for that cup of tea too.
This along with the Martha documentary is inspiring me to keep striving for garden goddess status despite not being able to keep a single dahlia alive and well.
Danielle does such an amazing job styling Greta Lee. This is perfect.
Yep, this one hits the nail on the head.
Recently discovered Dries Van Noten’s S/S 1994 show ‘Love Letter to India’, an homage to the country that most inspired the designer. The whole show is so beautiful (sidenote I love that 90s trend for proper smiles down the runway) but this look particularly got me. Beginning to realise i might have a new thing for chokers too…
A new brand on my radar, Kilentar is a Nigerian label that has some really standout pieces. The kind of pieces you’ll like if you need a high summer ‘wow’ look for an event or a wedding. This top looks like shells but they’re all metallic beads.
The Cairo apartment of photographic agent George Lang. So chic and eclectic and really makes me want an Asago flag. I love seeing inside beautfiul homes in cities we don’t get to go through the keyhole that much. The whole apartment is worth a look.
My penchant for purple continues to reign supreme and I’m really into this bold, Quality Street bag by small Spanish brand Laia Alllen. The kind of thing I’d wear with jeans, messy hair and a leather jacket to pretend I’ve made an effort without making any at all.
Obsessed with the shot of the England football team in Rio during the 1996 world cup.
Saw this Pre-Fall ‘25 Anim set on Moda and sreenshotted for this summer in Greece.
Cosy but ugly but cosy. I’ve since bought these and have been wearing a lot. Great with wide leg jeans or trackies on a chill day.
Yves Klein blue is a really obsession of mine right now. The best way to incorate is one bold piece in an otherwise neutral, earthy room. Case in point the above.
So often inspried by Leandra’s style, especially when I feel like I’m in a rut of wearing the same thing day in day out. Her outfits challenge me to make more effort and think outside of the box. Love the mix of metallic maximalist coat with utilitarian cargo pants.
Something about this just caught my imagination. Something to do with the juxtaposition of that carefree summer feeling and the looming city… Maybe because I felt that exact pull between the two last week when it was time to head back to reality from the Carribbean.
Taking breakfast in bed and multitasking to the next level. Especially love the basket of newspapers and matching your bread basket to your bed sheets, although I do worry about the concussion situation at the head of the bed.
The dream holiday clutch! Lily Eve makes jackets, bags and more out of old Hermes blankets and towels. So cool and sustainable to boot.
I thought any other big Demon Copperhead fans would love to see this if they missed it.
The most perfect custom dining table made by Brian Persico. The delicate, sharp top with the curved legs and brutalist-style joinery is so stunning. If you’re a fan of beautiful, understated furniture and deisgn rooted in craft you’ll probably love every single piece like I do.
Last but not least, some more styling inspo from Still Here (best jeans around). I love the idea of a loose white roll neck under a denim shirt.
Until next time, L xxx
Love this! Will we be getting a post on your holiday? They’re always my favourites! Hope you had a great time!
Screenshotting your screenshots!
