When I’m not meticulously browsing Rightmove for fun or zoning out to Tiktoks, one of my favourite ways to diassociate is to browse hotels and plot fantasy trips. From doable long weekend stays to the sublime-y exotic and once-in-a-lifetime, these are the ones that have made it to the top of the list so far this year that you might want to bookmark too.

Les Suites Cinabres, Paris
I’m very excited because we are actually going here in a few week’s time. Comprising of just two suites above a chic tailoring store in central Paris, the decor looks so beautiful and curated. I opted for Suite 2 because I love the maximalist wallpaper and can’t resist a bath in the middle of the room. The ammenities and services sound like that of a 5 star* hotel but I love that it’s small and intimate, although saying that the suites themselves are twice the size of a normal Paris hotel room.

Sterrekoppe Farm, South Africa
Incredible interiors, home-grown organic food and produce and lots of healing focused treatments and retreats, Sterrekoppe Farm looks like the ultimate in restful, luxury indulgence. Of all the hotels I’ve listed it’s probably the most ‘me’ in terms of interiors too; cosy, warm with lovely printed fabrics and linen armchairs. Plus they have resident dogs which always scores extra points with me.

Donaira, Andalusia
An organic farm in blissful Spanih countryside complete with horse-riding, yoga and nourishing food, this place looks so dreamy and grounding with a holistic approach to just about everything they do. I’m imagining quiet rides through the hills before listening to the cicadas with a glass of wine in the evening and leaving feeling topped up mentally and physically.

Da Licensa, Portugal
The furniture curation and sense of space at this rural spot in Alentejo (about an hour inland from Lisbon) captured my imagination instantly. It has rave reviews and I love that every room is slightly different and has it’s own sense of ‘self’. I appreciate a hotel where I can book exactly the room I like the look of, rather than just a category of room and not quite knowing what you’ll end up with. At Da Licensa, I actually struggled to choose a favourite, they all have 10/10 elements to them and the pool is a moment in itself.
